HOT, HOT, HOT!
This is one of those years! I can remember one like it not that long ago; skipped spring and went straight to hot! No rain in months already! Husband on short-term disability now; bigger pain in the ass than ever! I am trying very hard to cope but every day of this is difficult. He is like a child more and more; oppositional and not willing to take care of any of this business himself. I think that he is making me physically ill. I am getting really bad stomachaches more and more. My nerves are shot; I keep burdening my mom with all my bitching. Some days I don't go over there to give her a break from me! Maybe she doesn't really mind, but I would, if it were me in her place. This is my 5th husband and I still haven't learned how to train one right! Someday, I will become a merry widow! HA! HA! Lord, please don't strike me down! I pray a lot for forgiveness! I have been fortunate to help my son financially, and I also help a dear, dear friend, whom I consider as close as my own sisters. She is a wonderfully humane woman who rescues dogs and takes care of any animal that needs it. She would starve before any animal would at her house. Those are my "charities" and I am happy to do it! That makes me feel better!

Happy New Year!
Well, here it is, already 2011! This is the 40th anniversary coming up of my high school graduation. I presume that they will have a reunion; I have never attended any of the other ones so far. I may want to check it out this year! It will be a trip anyway. I am glad last year is over! Here's hoping that this year is better; the husband wasn't behaving last year very well at all! He is still a condescending smart-alack; I should be used to that by now. I am just biding my time here! I try to keep busy and not dwell too much on the negative. That is all we can do sometimes. If there can be more harmonious times for all, I will be happy!

Already August
Can you believe that 3 months have gone by since I have written? I just believe that as you get older, time does fly!! Bunches of water under that bridge, hey? Well, I guess I have had some time to reflect and some things have happened these last few months that are significant. First, we'll start with my husband's child support. His youngest finally graduated from high school and we were able to have the child support terminated, as it was being garnished from his wages. You wouldn't believe what kind of red tape we had to go through to get that taken care of!! The laws are strict and even though the attorney general stopped it, my husband's company couldn't without this court order. That is finally over and done, thank God! Recently my ex-fiance that I had lived with a few years back took his own life but left me money! That was the weirdest thing I could imagine! I really didn't want to receive money like that but I wasn't turning it down! It is a very strange situation and I am still in shock over it. Oh, well, I will put the money to good use; my son will receive some of it, then I will save some and donate some to a worthy cause! I would love to be a good person whenever possible! It is difficult at times but I really do want that. I want to be worthy of my Lord's blessing and I can honestly say that I have fallen short of that recently. The past is the past and I can't change that but I must try to live each day ahead with a positive attitude and benevolent thoughts. I must pray very hard for this!

Rain, rain, Don't go away!
WOW! We have really had the rain this year already! There are some new weeds that have come up and we can't stay ahead of them! Even Mom doesn't know the names of these new ones; we have never seen them before. Where did they come from?? I am working daily on that huge yard and we have been pulling most all the weeds that we don't like. Now I know that this sounds weird but there are some really beautiful wild flowers that we prefer to leave, so I do what I call "creative mowing". I may have mentioned that before last year, but everything is sure a lot different this spring. I had to mow some weeds in the main part of the yard as the grass was growing but the weeds were growing faster. We do have our vegetable garden in process; everything has come up except the okra, but we planted it later than all the rest. We have corn, beans, cucumbers, yellow squash, tomatoes, jalapenos, onions, garlic, asparagus, strawberries and green bell peppers. I get hungry just thinking of all of that! Mom and I are rooting rose bush cuttings and then planting the bushes in the ornamental garden area. It is fantastic! So many things are blooming and continue to bloom so much that I have taken snapshots as much as possible. I love that yard work! I feel truly blessed to be able to do that gardening. What an experience it is!!

Tempus Fugit!
It is true! Time really does fly, even when you are not having fun! Lately, life has been no picnic and, if it wasn't for the yard work with my mom, I would have already gone crazy. My husband's drinking got way out of hand last weekend and it was a living nightmare. So far he has been behaving but this has happened before and once I let my guard down -- surprise! he starts it again! So...I have not let my guard down yet and I feel almost in a depression state of mind. He is oblivious to it and besides the fact that he drinks way too much when he does, he is a major slob. People at work even have a nickname for him that isn't flattering. He doesn't even care! Oh, well, I guess after all this time I have resigned myself to fact that he sure isn't going to change and I have been through enough divorces to know that won't help either. I won't give him one; I'll just have to outlive him!! (I hope!!) Enough of that drivel! I should close this blog on a happier note, so since I am having a B-day coming up soon, I will bid all a fine farewell. Maybe I can write more before several months go by again!

Fall is in the air!
God, I can't believe that it is already fall; the weather was spot-on today! It was so chilly this morning and stayed cool most of the day. That is unusual for our area. I love this time of year. We have planted some fall crops and even have some ornamental pumpkins that came up by accident. I weed-eated a dried up pumpkin and spread the seeds all over this one area and they came up! The plants are very healthy and we haven't had to water them so far. I hope they turn out great. We have carrots, radishes, turnips, beets, collard and turnip greens planted and they haven't germinated yet but soon will! I love that digging in the dirt. We spent all summer digging the weeds out of every square foot of my mom's yard and it looks good. I weed-eated, mowed, and chainsawed everything that needed it. We have mulched and planted ground cover everywhere we don't want the grass to grow back. It has been hard work but very rewarding to both of us.

June is in bloom!
Man, the last month completely got away from me! I have been busy, as usual, gardening! We have some veggies and tons of ornamentals blooming constantly. It is constant battle with the grass growing where we don't want it, but Mother Nature has been good to us lately, blessing us with some rain! The burn ban was lifted recently and we burned like pyromaniacs! So much brush, tree limbs, weeds, etc. had accumulated in the utility yard that it was unbelievable. Mom is not as physically active as in the past but I do my darnedest to keep everything maintained with the weed eater, lawnmower and chain saw. I enjoy that so much; it is very uplifting for me to be able to do this yard work. Hope to be able to keep it up until I die.
